ArcelorMittal Europe – Bars & Rods and WireSolutions – is exhibiting at Wire, Hall 12, D32. Visitors can learn about the latest trends in the industry, the company states.
Thanks to its global portfolio, the company offers a wide range of solutions that include carbon footprint reduction with ArcelorMittal’s XCarb™ decarbonisation initiative. “Reducing ArcelorMittal’s carbon footprint is one of our most important goals: ArcelorMittal is strongly involved in developing technologies to make low-carbon steel a reality, which underpins ArcelorMittal Europe’s perimeter ambition to reduce carbon emissions by 35% by 2030”.
After announcing the two first Environmental Production Declarations (EPDs) for its low carbon footprint products, ArcelorMittal Europe – Long Products announced a third one: XCarb ® recycled and renewably produced for reinforcing steel in bars. The EPD provides a life-cycle assessment “detailing the complete environmental footprint of reinforcing steel in bars sold under ArcelorMittal’s XCarb ® recycled and renewably produced brand,” the company explains. “It certifies a global warming potential of 300 kg CO2 per tonne of finished steel for our XCarb ® rebar, far below the average carbon footprint of currently available rebar.
This EPD is valid for XCarb® recycled and renewably produced rebar covering various steel grades and produced with a certified renewable electricity supply .
