The Acerinox Group
has won four awards at the World Stainless Steel Association (formerly ISSF) awards ceremony.
Acerinox won gold and bronze in the Market Development category. The jury sought original concepts that promote custom-made stainless steel types, have significant market potential and offer significant environmental improvements.
The gold medal went to the Vertical Farming concept. This concept aims to achieve the growth of crops anywhere in the world regardless of climate, turning agriculture into an industrial process with fixed costs, production and quality levels.
North American Stainless (NAS) won the bronze award for a stainless steel bollard project that increased the life cycle and reduced costs, thanks to the selection of materials that reduce corrosion and the necessary maintenance.
Acerinox Europe won the bronze medal for implementing an automatic extraction system for lubricating grease. The grease is extracted from the damping system of the movements of the AOD converter so that risks derived from manual operation are avoided.
Acerinox Europa, a Campo de Gibraltar plant, won the silver medal for a program to reduce energy consumption in non-productive periods through innovative shutdown protocols. Tube / Hall 3 / B18
